Writer ~ Gardener ~ Relative

Exploring and creatively expressing thoughts, representations and intersections across storytelling, cultural identity, food, place and sense of belonging through multi-genre literature.

Weaving words.

Why I write

Much of my professional writing is devoted to planning and evaluation along similar planes of storytelling, racial equity, cultural identity restoration, food sovereignty and the effects of invisibility and lack of belonging. Creative writing provides me space for observance and self-reflection often dissecting and challenging dichotomies and contradictions found in mainstream structures. These outlets are needed and welcomed between my personal healing treks and internal reconciling chatter. This new self-empowered space is a refuge from the world of academia and demands of structured script and reporting.
